I pledge to be independent and to fight for the best interests of our citizens to maintain our state's low automobile rates and to make sure that the process of rate review is more efficient. I pledge to make health insurance and health care reform a top priority of the Department of Insurance. And I pledge to fight against those who prey on our state with false insurance claims or bad practices.

Invigorate the insurance markets in North Carolina

As insurance commissioner, I will invigorate the insurance markets in North Carolina - by bringing new companies and new products to our consumers. But I will hold those companies accountable to their contracts and our state's laws and will run them out of North Carolina if they break the rules.
